A calibration method for failure modeling in clinching process simulations

Abstract. In the numerical simulation of mechanical joining technologies such as clinching, material modeling parts is major importance. This includes damage and failure behavior materials in accordance with varying occurring stress states. paper presents a calibration method three different fracture models. The models done by use experimental data from modified punch test, tensile test bulge order to map states clinching processes precisely model resulting behavior. Experimental investigations were carried out for an aluminum alloy EN AW-6014 temper T4 compared simulative results generated LS-DYNA. comparison force-displacement curves initiation shows that Hosford–Coulomb predicts used tests applied best accuracy.
